PIEcal 525B RTD/Thermocouple Calibrator from Saelig Saelig Company, Inc. announces the availability of the PIEcal Model 525B Automated RTD & Thermocouple Calibrator - an industrial temperature sensor calibrator that accommodates RTDs (resistance temperature detectors) and thermocouples with its built-in NIST-traceable cold junction sensor. The PIE 525B is also suitable for use in calibration labs since its high accuracy and resolution are achieved by using an extremely stable, low drift circuit design featuring a +/- 0.05degC reference thermistor. In addition to registering actual temperature, the PIE 525B shows the precise resistance value when displaying RTD temperature. It features patented automatic detection of 2, 3 or 4 wire RTD connections and also detects when individual wire connections are open circuit. Inputs are protected up to ±60VDC against possible misconnection.

Each GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch Spectrometer is individually calibrated to deliver precise, accurate, and quick results, making it ideal for measurements of light sources such as LEDs, LED assemblies, halogen and fluorescent lamps, photobiological safety lamps, and LCD displays, using a range of available optical probes. Unique features of the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch include: laboratory accuracy, extended spectral range from 200 to 1050nm, very high resolution (0.5nm), an OSR system for stray light reduction, and compatibility with a wide range of available integrating spheres and probes for measuring almost any light source from 1 – 200,000lux (Illuminant A).

Using a precision 2048 pixel CCD image sensor with 16-bit A/D, the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch covers 200 - 1050nm - well beyond the optical range - and the TFT-LCD touch panel on this portable unit directly shows illumination parameters in the familiar CIE chromaticity diagrams. Built-in 802.11b/g WiFi can send results to a nearby PC without needing a physical connection, but the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch does not require a computer for taking measurements since it immediately shows critical data on its display. Navigation is very simple and critical parameters can easily be displayed: full spectral profile (Spectral Power Distribution), CIE chromaticity charts, color coordinates and peak values, lighting parameters like CCT, CRI and individual R1 – R14 indices, etc. A 4GB Micro SD card also holds results as they are taken. (www.saelig.com) has introduced the Xprotolab Portable - a combination of three electronic instruments: a mixed signal oscilloscope (simultaneously sampling of 2 analog/8-bit/200kHz and 8 digital/1MHz signals), an arbitrary waveform generator and a protocol sniffer. As a Mixed Signal Oscilloscope, it offers simultaneous 2MSa/s sampling of 2 analog and 8 digital signals; as an Arbitrary Waveform Generator it provides advanced sweep options on all waveforms; as a Protocol Sniffer, it can decode SPI, I2C, UART. The Xprotolab Portable has an Advanced Triggering System: Normal / Single / Auto / Free trigger modes, an adjustable trigger level, and the ability to view signals prior to the trigger. As a portable Digital Meter, Xprotolab Portable can show VDC, VPP and Input Frequency to 12MHz. Lissajous Figures, displaying V/I curves, or the phase difference between two waveforms is possible in XY Mode. A built-in FFT Spectrum Analyzer offers different windowing options and selectable vertical log and IQ visualization. Channel Math allows adding, multiplying, inverting, and averaging input signals. Automatic Waveform Measurements and waveform references are offered too, with Horizontal and Vertical Cursors. The waveform generator and the oscilloscope can run simultaneously, since the waveform generator runs in the background.

Based on an Atmel ATXMEGA32A4U microprocessor, the Xprotolab Portable can connect to a PC’s USB port for charging the built-in 600mAh battery or for external control or screen dumps.
