Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL) today introduced the industry’s first radiation tolerant 36V instrumentation amplifier (in-amp) featuring an integrated differential analog-to-digital converter (ADC) driver. The high performance ISL70617SEH differential input, rail-to-rail output in-amp delivers the industry’s highest signal processing performance for low-level sensor telemetry data critical to communication satellites. Its high integration and best-in-class performance reduces system size, weight and power (SWAP) costs, and accelerates time to market.

The ISL70617SEH enables higher common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) and power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) than the competition, at all gain settings. Designers can easily program the in-amp’s gain from 0.1 to 10,000 using two external resistors. The device is wafer-by-wafer guaranteed to 75krad (Si) with a low dose rate exposure of 10mrad/sec, which more closely resembles the space environment than the high dose rate testing used with competitive devices. SAN FRANCISCO -- Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, and Eurotech (ETH:IM), a leading provider of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, today announced the launch of a new, open source Eclipse Foundation project to manage IoT edge devices, from connectivity and configuration to application lifecycle. The co-sponsored project, Eclipse Kapua, combines with the existing Eclipse Kura project to offer IoT developers and end users an open platform for end-to-end IoT implementations, helping them to avoid costly, proprietary lock-in and accelerate community-driven development.

The collaboration between Red Hat and Eurotech represents a significant boost to open source IoT solutions and marks the development of the first end-to-end open source IoT platform. Eurotech is now contributing its existing code base for its Everyware Cloud IoT cloud integration platform to the Kapua project, which is in addition to the company’s past contribution of its Everyware Software Framework (ESF) under the Kura project.
